EXPERIENCE FLATHEAD LAKE
There’s no better way to appreciate the scale and beauty of Flathead Lake than from the water. Far West Boat Tours offers scenic cruises and private charters aboard Montana’s largest tour boat, departing seasonally from Lakeside. The narrated tour blends local history with views of the Mission and Swan mountain ranges for a memorable on-the-water experience.
TIME OUTDOORS
West Shore / Flathead Lake State Park provides a peaceful setting to enjoy the lake’s shoreline. Sheltered by forestland, the park features glacially carved rock outcroppings, clear water and expansive views. Fishing—especially along the rocky shore—and boating are popular, and the park includes a 31-site RV-accessible campground.
Closer to town, Lakeside’s Volunteer Park offers a classic lakeside gathering place with beach access, a pier, swim docks, a boat dock, canoe and bicycle racks and pavilions available for rent.

EXPLORE TOWN
Along the lakefront, you’ll find locally owned shops and eateries, including Harbor Grille, offering lakeside dining with views across the water. Tamarack Brewing Company is a longtime favorite for craft beer and hearty meals after a day outdoors—the chicken wings have a loyal following for good reason.
ADVENTURE, YEAR-ROUND
For a unique thrill, ride the Flathead Lake Alpine Coaster. Open year-round, it offers an exciting way to take in the surrounding landscape in any season.
Legacy Bike Park offers family-friendly riding with mountain bike trails ranging from mellow green routes to challenging double black options. Open seasonally, the park also offers camping for those looking to extend their stay.
When winter arrives, Lakeside becomes a gateway to snow-season fun. Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is just 30 minutes away and offers panoramic views of Flathead Lake, the Mission Mountains and Glacier National Park. The nearby Blacktail Mountain Nordic Trails are ideal for scenic cross-country skiing and winter hiking.
