Every once in a while, this messy-haired girl feels the need to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And because I’m not one to ignore a hankering, earlier this week a group of my girlfriends decided to bust a move out of the city and make our way to a little piece of paradise only 45 minutes from Missoula: Montana Island Lodge.
Located on an island in the middle of Salmon Lake, Montana Island Lodge is quite a sight to see. Best described as a massive log cabin, the lodge has 11 rooms, cozy fireplaces, a hot tub, a great room and gorgeous views of the surrounding lake and forest. During the summer months, the lodge is accessible via boat while in the winter visitors make their way across the solidly frozen ice via an ATV.
After a scenic and gab-filled drive from Missoula, our giggling gaggle of girls made our way over to Montana Island Lodge where we spent the first 30 minutes exploring every room, nook and cranny of this gorgeous place.
Here’s a look at this Montana paradise…
After a delightful stay, along with mouth-watering food and stellar treatment from the Montana Island Lodge staff, the only thing I’m wondering is this: When are we going back?
