Brunch is reason enough to plan your morning in Western Montana. Craving a classic stack of pancakes, locally roasted coffee, or a fresh take on traditional flavors? Glacier Country has no shortage of noteworthy spots to start your day. From laid-back cafés to lively diners, here are 10 brunch destinations worth checking out.
ECHO LAKE CAFE – BIGFORK
In Bigfork, Echo Lake Cafe serves breakfast and lunch all day in a rustic, saloon-style setting. Family-owned since 1960, this local favorite has perfected what Montanans like to eat for breakfast (served all day). Bestsellers and staff picks are marked on the menu, including the Wrangler Scramble, Spanish Omelet, Huevos Rancheros and the Echo Lake Special.

LOULA’S CAFE – WHITEFISH
Nominated Best in Whitefish, Loula’s Cafe is a longtime local favorite. The breakfast and lunch menus feature classics alongside creative options, like the breakfast enchilada and lemon-stuffed French toast. One thing you shouldn’t skip is the pie—Loula’s bakes more than 3,000 pies a year and has earned national recognition for them.

THE BOAT CLUB – WHITEFISH
Located inside The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, The Boat Club is a great place to enjoy brunch with a view. Favorites include the Smoked Salmon Croque Madame—a croissant filled with salmon, spinach, avocado and cheese, topped with béchamel and a fried egg. Pair your meal with a signature Apple Cider Mimosa for a relaxing start to the day. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays.

SYKES – KALISPELL
For a casual dining experience, head to Sykes, a Kalispell staple. Their famous 10-cent cup of coffee has been drawing customers in for 100 years, but folks keep coming back for the hearty food. Favorites include chicken-fried steak, biscuits and gravy, burgers, and a variety of eggs Benedict options. Don’t leave without grabbing a slice of pie.

TAMARACK BREWING COMPANY – LAKESIDE + MISSOULA
In Lakeside or Missoula, stop by Tamarack Brewing Company for a build-your-own bloody mary bar stocked with everything from bacon and asparagus to pickles and more. There’s also a mimosa bar, if you prefer something bubbly. Once you’ve set up your drink, try the chicken and waffles or biscuits and gravy. Brunch is served on Sundays.

THE TROUGH – MISSOULA
Missoula’s food scene is full of standout spots, and The Trough is a local favorite for brunch. Located in a more rural part of town, this laid-back restaurant sits next to The Olde Dairy Market, a nod to the building’s past as a working dairy. The menu features everything from build-your-own breakfast sandwiches to hearty skillets, along with $3 mimosas.

CAFE MIMOSA – MISSOULA
Cafe Mimosa serves “boozy brunch all day,” offering classic American fare, creative craft cocktails and a lighthearted Miami-vibe atmosphere. Breakfast is available all day long, with a variety of Benedicts, baked eggs, omelets and other specials. Cocktail options include mimosas, bloody marys, espresso martinis, Irish coffee and other specialty drinks, plus beer and wine.

THE OLD POST – MISSOULA
A Missoula favorite with jazzy vibes, The Old Post serves a dedicated brunch menu on weekday mornings and most of the day on weekends. From corned beef hash and biscuit beignets to a chorizo “brunch-rrito” and veggie Benedict, the menu offers creative takes on classic dishes. Pair your meal with a specialty brunch cocktail from their extensive drink list.

GLEN’S CAFE – FLORENCE
When you walk into Glen’s Cafe, you might find it looks familiar—it was used as a filming location for the TV series “Yellowstone.” This small log cabin cafe has been family-owned and operated since 1972. Known for delicious homemade pies and classic American breakfast dishes, Glen’s is a cozy spot for a laid-back brunch.

MISSION BISTRO – STEVENSVILLE
Located on Main Street in historic Stevensville, Mission Bistro offers a warm, modern atmosphere with a slightly upscale brunch menu. This cozy spot serves hearty dishes, like the wild mushroom and bacon scramble or the Monte Cristo sandwich. Brunch is offered on Sundays.
